Thursday 10 May 2012 - 18th Crossing

The Team started early in the morning on Thursday, 10/5/2012 heading to Sikinos.

After a short stop in Vathi of Sifnos, we arrived in Sikinos where many residents led by the Mayor Mr. Ioannis Sirigos were waiting for us at the dock

Little students offered us flowers and the residents sang traditional songs accompanied by musical instruments.

In the evening, a celebration was organized with the participation of all the residents in the area of the multipurpose field that was renovated and equipped by the Group.

The Mayor in his speech referred to the work of the Group and announced the decision of the Municipal Council by which the members of the Aegean Group were declared Honorary Citizens of Sikinos and handed each member the relevant diplomas.

Professor Maria Andreadou spoke on behalf of the teachers and expressed the thanks of the teachers and students for the support provided by the Group.

Εthank you message from the teachers of Sikinos read on 10.05.2012.

It is with great joy and appreciation that we welcome the Aegean Group as a Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School and High School of Sikinos.

It is rare in these days that people with social sensitivity, love and true solidarity for their fellow man appear and exist beside you.

From the bottom of our hearts, we must thank them in turn, not only because of the offer of this field to our small school, and not only because tomorrow morning they will provide their medical aid to the residents of our island, but mainly because with their example they provide both us and our students with a very important pedagogical lesson of giving and a life message that will follow all of us in the coming years of our lives.

Thank you from the bottom of my heartus.
