Thursday 5 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
08:00 – The team starts from Lagonisi
11:45 – The boats arrive at Sikinos. The residents are at the port and welcome the Team with
songs accompanied by traditional instruments

14:00 – The interior of the desalination unit. The priests of the island perform consecration.
14:30 – The Mayor of Sikinos offers the Team a commemorative and symbolic gift: one
representation of an ancient cup dedicated to the Team.

Sunday 8 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
08:00 – The Team sails from Rhodes towards Megisti (Kastelorizo).
We felt the need to make a stop in Ro to light the candle at the grave of Despina Achladiotis
(Lady of Roe).
A little later, we entered the port of Megisti.
The organizers of the clinics unloaded and transported to the premises where the clinics will operate the
machines and equipment of the Group.
Immediately after, the medical team began the placement, assembly and connection of the equipment so that Monday morning
to operate the clinics.
The Expatriate Association of New York Pangregorian Metro of New York,
offered a check thousand dollars to the best student on the island. The same award will
it is repeated by the expatriates every year to the excellent students of the small and uncritical islands who will
proposed by the Group.
Monday 9 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
The microbiology section of the Group starts at 7:30 the first blood draws. The department will work non-stop for
twelve plus hours to deliver the results of the hematological and biochemical analyzes to the fifty
four (54) residents examined.
Residents started coming to the central office of the clinics from 09:00.
The clinics were quickly filled with residents who came to be examined honoring and trusting the Team. Until
evening, over 160 residents out of the 200 living on the island were examined.
At the same time, other members of the Team went to great lengths to pave the kindergarten yard area with the
special anti-vibration safety floor that the Team had already sent to the island so that its instruments could also be installed
playground offered by the Group.
The efforts were rewarded, the playground was finished on time and in the afternoon we heard nothing but the
happy voices of children.
It is now nightfall, the transport and assembly team is reassembling medical equipment and machinery and the
transfers to "MONTH E" for the next station, Patmos.
At the same time, in the square of the island, the Group organized a musical evening that started with Thanasis Zois (lyricist and
composer of "AGRIA NERA"). This was followed by Yiannis Zouganelis who responded immediately and selflessly to her call
Team, he came to Kastellorizo and sang, told jokes and created a lot of fun for us all.
Wednesday 11 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
The Team which arrived in Patmos the day before after a grueling journey of about 180 nautical miles. miles,
visits the Kindergarten of Kampos and offers educational material to the children.
Immediately after, it is the turn of the Primary School of Kampos. In the photos the students welcome the members of the Team and
they offer their flowers and handicrafts.
On the occasion of the Team's visit, the children are fluoridated by the Team's dentists.
At the same time, the inhabitants of the island flood the Health center to be examined by the doctors of the Team.
On May 11 and 12, they were examined 592 residents, became 143 blood draws,
41 home visits and 15 removals of nodules, carcinomas and skin tumors
damage.
On the evening of May 11, the Mayor organized for the Group an excellent evening with a band and
traditional dances during which he offered a souvenir.
Thursday (noon) May 12, 2011 – 17 p.mth Crossing
The students of the kindergarten and the Primary School, welcome the Group and offer souvenirs.
Later in the afternoon, the toddlers and the Elementary School of Kampos with their parents and the Mayor welcome the Group with
songs and gifts for the opening of the Playground built and donated by the School Team. The next
day, May 13, the Team will visit Arkiou and then Agathonisi.
Friday 13 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
The Group sets sail from Patmos and arrives at Arkios.
Doctors make house calls …..
…. while other members of the Team go to the school and provide educational materials.
In the afternoon we leave for Agathonisi.

The microbiological one did 47 blood tests and the doctors examined 64 residents. The
afternoon, the Team will leave for Leipsos, the last destination of the 17thth Diaplo.
Saturday 14 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
18:00 – The Team arrives at Lipsi.
The reception is once again heartwarming.
Sunday 15 May 2011 - 17th Crossing
The attendance of residents for medical examinations is high. At the same time, a delegation of the Group goes
successively in Primary and High School and offers gifts and educational materials. The children welcome them with
excitement and offer stones that they have painted for all members of the Group.
A little later, the safety floor of the yard and its instruments are completed and delivered to the kindergarten
playground.
In the afternoon, the famous football player Predrag Djordjevic, a guest of the Group, participates in
match on the 5X5 pitch that the Team had built in 2004.
The Team sailed from Lipsi at 08:00, on Monday 16/5/2011 and with an intermediate station in Syros, the boats
they sailed to Lagonisi at 16:30.
Another successful one beside, o 17th done.
During the:
- the Sikinos Desalination Unit was inaugurated,
- three playgrounds were built and donated (Kastelorizo, Patmos, Lipsi),
- performances of Shadow Theater (Sikino) were organized,
- Music Evening (G. Zouganelis – Kastelorizo) and
- Football Match (Lipsi).
- They came to the clinics and were examined 1543 inhabitants of the islands which 438
they also underwent blood tests.
