The Aegean Team, continuing for the 15th year in a row its activity, which aims to relieve, support and strengthen an important and vital area of ​​our homeland, which are the arid and small islands of the Aegean Sea, carried out as part of its program for 2009 , on the 15th Diagonal of the Aegean Sea, from Thursday 7 May to Monday 18 May.

THE AEGEAN TEAM with 11 inflatable boats and the ambulance boat "Minas E" of the Aegean Team which is now also equipped with preventive medicine medical equipment, visited the islands:
SIKINOS, AMORGOS, KOUFONISI, PATMOS, ARKIOUS, LIPSOUS, AGATHONISI, FOURNOUS and THYMAINA.

During the crossing, the AEGEAN TEAM launched infrastructure projects built and donated to the inhabitants of the small and critical islands such as:

• a 5x5 field he built in Agathonisi,
• an indoor gym and a library he equipped as well as a playground he built in Koufonisi,
• two playgrounds in Patmos
• a reverse osmosis water filter installation in Thymaina,
• installation of a dental office and the equipment of the new kindergarten in Sikinos
• Rapid water purification system in Thymaina,
• Equipment of the New Kindergarten in Sikinos
• Dental Office in Sikinos
• Ambulance Vehicle in Astypalea

In consultation with the teachers and the representatives of the local government of the islands, we prepared, sent and delivered to the schools and kindergartens of the islands educational, educational, pedagogical and cultural material. In kindergartens and children's schools, it provided computers, fax machines, slide machines, photocopiers, musical instruments, sports equipment, school furniture, etc. (347 boxes in total). He also held various cultural events.
As far as the Medical sector is concerned, the medical department of the Team this year consisted of 23 doctors from 18 specialties and had the assistance of 2 nurses. In the clinics he established, he examined a total of 1757 cases, of which 303 were subjected to a full microbiological and biochemical control, and home visits were made to approximately one hundred bed-ridden cases.

Children were also given:

• Preventive control of scoliosis – kyphosis,
• Cardiological examination
• Dental check-up
• ENT examination
• Ophthalmological examination and
• Pediatric orthopedic examination.

The acceptance of the Group's work by the inhabitants of our islands was once again particularly moving.
