The Aegean Team started its journey from Sikino where the first of the playgrounds built by the Team this year was inaugurated. Pedestrian paths were also built and inaugurated in Donoussa and Leros.

The Minister of Defense Mr. Evag. Meimarakis inaugurated a 5x5 football field in Sikinos, a sports infrastructure project. But we also had an opening ceremony for the construction of the "Dimitris Kosti Los" Municipal Gymnasium in Leipsos, on the 5×5 field in Fournos, Ikaria. On many islands, shadow theater and actions of ecological interest were organized.

All the visits of the Aegean Team were accompanied by an offer of educational and pedagogical material, computers, musical instruments, sports equipment, photocopiers, faxes, etc. which is necessary for the inhabitants of these islands and which was provided after prior consultation with the teachers and parents of these islands.

In the medical field, 22 doctors from 18 different specialties, 2 nurses and 1 pharmacist participated in the Aegean Team this year. With their valuable help, the Aegean Team managed to achieve its goals, which were to carry out medical examinations for adults in the following specialties:

Pathology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Neurology - Psychiatry, General Surgery, Microbiology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Pediatric Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Obstetrics - Gynecology, Oncology, Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology.

The children underwent a preventive scoliosis-kyphosis screening, a cardiological screening and a preventive dental examination. At the same time, clinics for preventive diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer and gynecological cancer operated. Finally, microbiological tests covering a complete hematological and biochemical control were carried out. At the same time, there were meetings of experts in psychosocial issues, scientists of the Aegean Group, with parents, guardians and teachers about any problems that concern them. A total of 1239 cases were examined while 374 blood samples were taken.
